Theatre Group: Center Stage Theatre
Audition Dates: June 2 & 4 at 7pm
Production Dates: July 29 – August 3
Directed by Lynne Synder Synopsis:
If you thought you knew the story of
"The Princess and The Pea," you may
be in for a
walloping surprise! Did you know, for instance,
that Princess Winnifred actually swam the moat
to
reach Prince Dauntless the Drab? Or that Lady
Larken's love for Sir Harry provided a rather
compelling
reason that she reach the bridal altar post
haste? Or that, in fact, it wasn't the pea at
all that caused the
princess a sleepless night? Carried on a wave
of wonderful songs, by turns hilarious and raucous,
romantic
and melodic, this rollicking spin on the familiar
classic of royal courtship and comeuppance provides
for
some side-splitting shenanigans. Chances are,

way again. |

A Year With Frog & Toad
Theatre Group: Over Due Theatre Co.
Audition Dates: July 21
Production Dates: Oct 3-5, 10-12
Directed by Joshua Cook
|
Synopsis: Arnold
Lobel's well-loved characters hop from the page
to the stage in Robert and
Willie Reale's musical A Year With Frog And
Toad. Conceived by Mr. Lobel's daughter, Adrianne
Lobel,
A Year With Frog And Toad remains true to the
spirit of the original stories as it follows
two great friends,
the cheerful and popular Frog and the rather
grumpy Toad through four fun-filled seasons.
Waking from
hibernation in the spring, they proceed to plant
gardens, swim, rake leaves and go sledding,
learning life lessons
along the way, including a most important one
about friendship and rejoicing in the attributes
that make each
of us different and special. A score that bubbles
with melody and wit, it's jazzy upbeat sound
is a
perfect match for the hopping, crawling and
flying denizens that inhabit Frog and Toad's
world. |
